'Food inclusivity - understanding food allergies and intolerances'

A presentation by Heather Landex

Heather Landex has worked in hospitality for 20 years and in food safety as an environmental health practitioner for 10 years. She has advised and trained thousands of food and hospitality professionals, auditing and inspecting restaurants and hotels, in multiple countries.

As a vegan with food allergies and intolerances herself, Heather has a natural inclination to help ‘foodies’ gain a greater awareness of food safety, communication and understanding customers with dietary preferences, making her a pioneer of food inclusivity.

Her presentation ‘Food inclusivity - understanding food allergies and intolerances’ will open with some startling statistics on how many people are affected by dietary preferences, before moving onto:

• food allergy disclaimers on menus - do they reduce risk or liability?

• communication must-haves for safety.

• how to provide information about risk.

• thresholds such as ED01 and customer sensitivity.

• confusion with vegan claims, and more!

Following the presentation there will be a short break followed by a live Q&A.

Attending live will entitle you to a digital certificate worth 1.5 CPD points.
