Breakfast Briefing – Food Safety

Speakers:
Paul Turner, Principal Environmental Health Officer, Hull City Council
Grahame Turner, Technical & Training Manager, Mitie  Pest Control

At Highfield, we’re passionate about food safety. As the UK market leader when it comes to regulated food safety qualifications and supporting training materials, we appreciate the importance of keeping our customers up to date with some of the most important topics in the sector.

As you know, food businesses have never faced more public, media or legislative scrutiny. This event will take a look behind the headlines as you experience a day in the life of an EHO, straight from the horse’s mouth.

Paul Turner is Principal Environmental Health Officer at Hull City Council, and he will guide you through the latest headlines that have graced regional and national headlines. Topics will be wide-ranging but will cover horse meat, food hygiene rating system, closures, pest problems, feeding the homeless, when jobs go ‘viral’ and many more.

Paul will also take a look at the many urban legends we’ve all heard – the unmentionable in the fast-food burger and other rumours (seagulls and greyhounds) that aren’t true.

The event will also take a look at the latest innovation and changes in pest management. Grahame Turner will discuss the recent changes that impact upon effective pest management. His topics will include: interpretation of the latest auditing standards; progress and restrictions of rodenticide stewardship; and the new bird management licences.
