Revel in a morning of insightful presentations and discussions around food safety and food fraud by specially selected speakers at Highfield’s new Breakfast Briefings. Our chosen speakers are experts in their field with a wealth of knowledge to impart on TACCP and VACCP, the culture of food safety management and high-profile allergen cases.

Speaking on Wednesday 6 February at Highfield's Academy House office in Doncaster will be:

 

Marcia Henshaw (Henshaw Safety & Training Solutions)

‘Knowing your TACCP from your VACCP: the first line of defence against food fraud’

Marcia has worked in the food industry for twenty-one years, starting her career as a microbiologist and analytical chemist. She has designed and developed food safety management systems for a variety of food industries to CODEX HACCP and BRC standards. Marcia has worked in a number of technical roles, including as a consultant and as a technical support manager for a UKAS Certification Body. Her involvement in the development, auditing and teaching of systems comparative with BRC Food version 7 lead her to specialising in the food fraud systems, TACCP and VACCP. 

 

Peter Wareing (P Wareing Food Safety Ltd)

'Food allergen culture: prevention is better than cure’

Peter is an independent expert witness for civil and criminal courts and a food safety consultant in HACCP, risk assessment, theoretical validations and microbiological troubleshooting, with particular focus on mycological issues. His specialist product areas are in the microbiology of soft drinks, sauces and dressings, bakery products and dried foods. As a member of the Society for Applied Microbiology and a Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology, Peter has over 30 years’ experience working in food and agricultural research and development. His work has taken him as far as Africa, Asia and South America.

 

Highfield staff will be at the event to demonstrate the huge benefits that becoming an approved Highfield centre has to offer as well as how we provide ongoing support to our centres. You’ll have the opportunity to discuss anything, from the vast suite of Highfield qualifications, to end-point assessment, our training materials, e-learning and much more.

Breakfast snacks and refreshments will be available on arrival and during the morning with an opportunity for networking with other professionals in your area after the event.

Registration with refreshments will takes place from 09:00 with the session starting at 09:30. We estimate a finish time of approximately 12:00.

 

Attendance at this event will entitle you to 2 CPD points.

For quality and monitoring purposes, we currently record all CPD events.

 

This is a chargeable event.

It is an absolute pleasure to run events for our customers and there is nothing we like more than to meet up with you on these days. However, we need to maximise attendance and therefore have to charge for late cancellation and non-attendance.

Our cancellation policy is as follows: 

1. Please send cancellation details to events@highfield.co.uk. We request that delegates inform us of cancellations as soon as possible so that we can attempt to reallocate the place to a person on our waiting list. 

2. If you notify us of your cancellation more than 2 weeks prior to the event then we will provide a full refund or transfer your booking to an alternative Highfield event. 

3. If you notify us of your cancellation less than 2 weeks prior to the event then the full cost will be payable. 

4. Where you have booked a place at an event and do not attend then the full event cost will be payable.
