New quality assurance measures for First Aid
In November 2020 we updated the way first aid paperwork for regulated qualifications (RQF & SCQF) will be reviewed for centres with ‘Centre Managed Assessment’ (CMA).
Our system:
• allows us to meet regulatory requirements
• provides flexibility for our customers
• removes duplication
• embraces technology
CMA is a status achieved when a centre has confirmed compliance against our specific requirements. This status allows a centre to request and receive certificates for their learners without initial external quality checks.
We have designed the review system to ensure compliance is maintained whilst providing flexibility for our centres. Your centre will be given 6 months to select a course that provides us with the information we require. This means that if you are unable to provide all the information required from a course you have conducted within the last 12 months you will be able to make plans to obtain the evidence from a future course.
As a minimum, centres with CMA will receive an e-mail from Highfield, annually, as part of our quality assurance measures for first aid. The e-mail will contain a link to a questionnaire which will support you through identifying and sending all the documentation Highfield requires to complete the quality assurance review. Highfield have carefully considered our regulatory requirements when developing this new system to ensure that we only ask for information that ensures Highfield and our centres remain compliant.
Our regulatory bodies are stressing the importance of assessment observation for all AO’s, we have therefore developed a very customer friendly system which will allow our centres to provide this efficiently. Centres are now required to provide a 10-minute video of practical assessment taking place for one of your first aid courses. Details of this process will be provided on our free webinar.
Non-CMA Centres
If your centre has not achieved CMA status yet, please continue to claim for your learner’s certificates via Highfield Central and our EQS Dept will book your course paperwork in for a review.
Our EQS Team will contact you via e-mail to advise on the paperwork required to support a claim for CMA, so please ensure you send this through in full as it will enable us to assign this status to your centre following a successful review.
This webinar will provide your centre with the following information:
• How to achieve CMA
• How the questionnaire works
• Choosing appropriate paperwork and assessment footage to upload
• Service levels
This webinar is expected to run for an hour and will including plenty of time for questions throughout the webinar, putting our experts at your fingertips.
